Leeron Waterproof Wireless Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review

After only a week of use, I love this portable bluetooth speaker! I have been looking for a waterproof Bluetooth wireless speaker for almost a year. Some I have bought had a tinny sound. Some said they were waterproof and failed miserably just in my shower. This speaker has so far been everything it says it is. If you are thinking of giving it as a gift, it comes nicely packaged. It comes with a micro USB charging cord, but not a wall outlet. It also comes with a 3.5mm auxiliary cable to hook up a phone or other device that isn’t Bluetooth compatible. The speaker has a hard plastic loop on the left hand side with a carabineer clip. This is a great convenience. I use it to hang it up in the shower, hook to my backpack, and secure in my vehicle.

Waterproof. I have not dunked it under or dropped it in deep water, but it has been sprayed with a water hose and sprayed in the shower. So far it has worked even while wet and is still working. It says it is IPX7 which is supposed to be waterproof to 1 meter deep. I can’t wait to try it out in our hot tub this fall and winter. It should be perfect.

Crash-proof. The speaker has a silicone case. I have dropped it on our hardwood floor and our asphalt driveway from 4 feet up. It still worked fine and didn’t even skip or act up when it hit. The only way you can tell I have dropped it is that it bounced when it fell on the asphalt and it left a few small cuts. This makes me very happy. I have 10 dogs and that means there are many trips, falls, drops, and other accidents in my home.

Battery Use. The item description states 2 different playback times. In the bullet points, it states 16-18 hours. Near the bottom in the main product description, it states 9 hours at 50% volume. I have used it for 10.5 hours straight between 25% and 50% volume and it hadn’t run out of power yet. In the bullet points, it says that using Bluetooth uses more battery power than using the auxiliary cable.

Battery Charging. The main product description states that the charging time is 3-4 hours. So far that seems about right. It has a red LED light at the charging port that comes on and stays on until it is fully charged.

Sound and Distance. I mostly listen to audio books. The sound is clear and the tone is great. It sounds like the narrator is in the room with you reading. Music doesn’t sound like it is coming out of a tin can. The main product description says that the effective distance of the Bluetooth portion of the speaker is 10 meters (32.8 feet). I have found this to be a good estimate. From my recliner to my bathroom is 39 feet. When my phone is plugged up next to my recliner, with the speaker in the bathroom it breaks up quite bad. But my laundry room is 22 feet from my recliner and my guest bedroom is 28 feet and the speaker works fine in both of those rooms.

Overall, it’s a quality bluetooth speaker worth to buy at this price.
